Mandate and Mission

The mandate of the Nanaimo Fiddle Society is to inspire and support fiddle players and complementary musicians of all ages, cultures and backgrounds in the Central Vancouver Island region, fostering participation, skill development, and an appreciation for the cultural, recreational and heritage values of this timeless musical tradition.

The mission of the Nanaimo Fiddle Society is to create an inclusive and vibrant community where musicians of all ages, abilities, cultures, backgrounds and skill levels can explore, develop, and share their passion for music. Through education, performance opportunities, and family-oriented, intergenerational events, we aim to strengthen community engagement and pride, while preserving the cultural heritage of fiddle music. By fostering connections across generations, we aim to inspire the next generation of fiddlers to keep this tradition alive and thriving.
